Zanton Basson Death, Obituary – Zanton Basson, a student at Rocklands High who lived in Mitchells Plain and was 17 years old, was fatally stabbed by a friend who also lived in Mitchells Plain and attended Rocklands High on November 23, 2022 at Westgate Mall. Basson’s assailant was also a student at Rocklands High and lived in Mitchells Plain. The friend lived in Mitchells Plain and attended Rocklands High School during the school year. After investigation, it was determined that the incident took place in the Mitchells Plain neighborhood. The injuries that Basson sustained during the night proved to be fatal, and as a result, he did not make it through the night.
According to the narrative, Zanton confronted his friend for behaving impolitely toward an older person, which ultimately led to the two of them getting into a fight with each other. Zanton’s friend was the one who acted impolitely toward the older person. The friend of Zanton was the one who was behaving in an impolite manner toward the older individual. Zanton is entirely to blame for this disagreement as a result of the actions he took in the situation. It is widely held, and supported by a variety of pieces of evidence, that Zanton was the one who initially stoked the flames of discord between the two groups of people.

Zanton was taken by ambulance to Melomed Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. Despite this, he experienced a rapid deterioration in his condition, and he passed away the following day. Zanton’s life could not be saved by the medical professionals working at Melomed Hospital, despite the fact that they tried their hardest. It was determined that the Melomed Hospital would not be able to provide him with the care necessary to save his life while he was receiving treatment there. After that, his friend, who had just turned 22 years old at the time, was taken into custody and brought before the magistrate who presided over the Mitchells Plain area. After that, he was taken to Pollsmoor Prison so that he could finish serving out the remainder of his sentence there.
