Xavier Lofton Obituary, Death –  A shooting took place in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago on Friday night, and it was followed by a car accident in the same area. As a direct consequence of the incident, two people lost their lives. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office made the announcement early Sunday morning that Xavier Lofton, age 29, of Bellwood was one of the victims of the incident, which also resulted in the deaths of a man aged 36 and a woman aged 29, both of whom are currently in critical condition. The incident also resulted in the deaths of a man aged 29 and a woman aged 36.

According to the information provided by the Chicago Police Department, at approximately 11:17 p.m., someone inside a beige SUV began firing on a car that was traveling southbound on Cicero Avenue. The car was occupied by two people. According to the report filed by the police, Lofton took multiple blows to the head before being transported to Mount Sinai hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Another passenger in the vehicle, a woman in her twenties, was hit by gunfire and taken to Stroger Hospital after the incident in critical condition. The incident occurred when the suspect was driving the vehicle.

It has been reported that a man in his thirties was caught in the crossfire and received a gunshot wound to the back, as stated by the police. A short distance away from the scene where the shooting had started, he was involved in a collision with multiple other vehicles. According to the reports of the police, he was also transported to Mount Sinai, which is where he ultimately died. The Chicago Police Department has stated that there is no one being held in custody at this time; however, investigations are still ongoing.
