Willie Muncie Obituary, Death – On Tuesday, November 13, 1923, she came into the world as the daughter of Jesse Puterbaugh and Reva (Martin) Puterbaugh. Her birthday is November 13. The 13th of November was traditionally celebrated as her birthday in the beginning. Willie Mae graduated from Muncie Central High School with her high school diploma in the year 1941. She wed Glen Fender in 1942, and the couple remained married and committed to one another for the next thirty-seven years after that.
Willie Mae got her start in the working world at Durham, where she worked in the payroll department for fifteen years till the firm she worked for went out of business. After that, she found work at the Marhoeffer Computer Center, where she remained until the day she finally reached the age of retirement there fifteen years later. After that, she worked in the computer department at Ball State University for the subsequent twenty years until she reached the age of seventy-five, at which point she took early retirement.
Bowling, going on vacations, and playing Bingo were some of Willie Mae’s favorite things to do in her free time. It was revealed that she would be into the Muncie Bowling Hall of Fame, and the announcement was made. She continued to bowl up to the age of ninety-three, which is a remarkable achievement for someone of her age. In addition to that, she had spent the previous fifty years participating in the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary FOE 231, of which she was a member. Willie Mae thoroughly enjoyed going to casinos and watching sporting events on television in her spare time. She was a diehard fan of both the Indiana Pacers and the Chicago Cubs.
Willie Mae is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Jack and Glenna Foster; her daughter-in-law, Geneva Fender; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; twenty-five great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition, Willie Mae leaves behind a large number of great-great-grandchildren. She also has a large number of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and even great-great-great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Glen, her two sons, James Fender Sr. and Paul Fender, and her three sisters, Violet Moore, Barbara Lambert, and Mary Jane Miller all predeceased her. Her parents, Jesse and Reva Puterbaugh, her husband, Glen, and both of her boys died before she did. Glen, her husband, was the first family member to pass away. On Wednesday, February 17, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., there will be a visitation at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, which can be found at 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.
