William Dietz Obituary, Death – William Charles “Bill” Dietz, 59, a resident of Oberlin, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Thursday, December 1, 2022. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Rose Marie (Bihl) Dietz Sr. and was born on February 7, 1963 in Harrisburg. His brother, Kenneth Dietz Jr., also passed away before him. Two grandsons, Jacob Hollenbach and Liam Dietz; two brothers, Michael Dietz (wife, Anita), and Mark Dietz (wife, Amy); and four sisters, Camille Smeltz (husband, Don), Carole Hetrick (husband, Ron), Rosemary Morris (husband, Mike), and Maria Howard. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Janella E. (Fetterman) Dietz; daughter, Rachel E. Hollenbach (husband, Ed).
Bill worked for Meier Supply as an HVAC Specialist in that capacity. He was a well-liked DJ and co-owner of Calypso Entertainment alongside his lifelong friend and business colleague, Tim Delp, who also worked as a DJ. Over the course of over three decades, they made countless celebrations, including weddings and other events, more enjoyable.
Bill was a regular at establishments located all across the region due to his passion of dancing and singing karaoke. He had many friends and family members with whom he enjoyed playing cards, and he also coached kids soccer in Swatara Township. Bill was a man of many talents; he had a passion for doing home improvement projects and was known as the “go-to person” by everyone.
On Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 11:30 AM, a Memorial Service will be place at the Neill Funeral Home, which is located at 3501 Derry Street in Harrisburg. The visiting will begin at ten in the morning, immediately prior to the service.
