Virginia Vasko Obituary, Death – Virginia L. (Shearer) (Myers) Vasko passed away on December 29, 2016, in the home in York Springs that she shared with her son. She was 86 years old at the time of her death. She was the loving wife of the late Paul Vasko, who had passed away before her husband, as well as the late Paul H. Myers Jr. She was born in York on October 3, 1930 and was the daughter of the late John Sr. and Gertrude (Stough) Shearer. Both of her parents have now passed away. 2010 was the year that Virginia’s mother passed away.
She graduated from West York High School in 1948 and was a very involved member of the 4H organization in York County, where she lived. Her graduation year was 1948. She was an active member of Trinity Roth’s United Church of Christ in Spring Grove for a number of years. During that time, she served as a teacher at both the Sunday School and the Bible School in addition to being a member of the Consistory of the church.
Prior to her retirement, she worked for both Coyne Industrial Laundry and the family dairy farm that she and her late husband, Paul Myers, had owned and ran for a number of years. Paul Myers passed away in 2005. The life of Paul Myers has come to an end. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Vicki Rohrbaugh, who resides in York; her sons, Mark Myers and wife Sherry of Dover, Spencer Myers of Hershey, Vance Myers and wife Robin of Spring Grove, Dave Myers and wife Vickie of York Springs.
Paul H. Myers III and wife Jill of Oakmont; and Jonathan Myers and wife Sandra of Tonganoxie, Kansas; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind In addition, she is survived by her brothers Marlin Shearer and John Shearer Jr., as well as her sisters Geraldine Bahn, Loretta Zeigler, and Nancy Riley, in addition to a sizable number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Her little son Ray, in addition to her brother Leroy Shearer, both perished away prior to her passing away.
