Tom Hayden Death, Obituary – After hearing the news of Tom Hayden’s loss, the Longford GAA is in a state of immense pain. This news comes just a little bit more than a week after the departure of his loving wife, Annie. The Longford Gaelic Athletic Association is in a state of profound melancholy after learning of Tom Hayden’s passing. Tom served for a significant amount of time on the Longford Minor Board, which is now referred to as the Coiste na ng. During his tenure on the board, he was responsible for a variety of responsibilities, including acting in the capacity of Chairperson.
Tom was also a member of the Longford GAA County Executive, where he served in a number of capacities, including the role of Vice-Chairperson. In addition, Tom was a member of the Longford GAA County Board of Directors. He showed an extraordinary amount of interest in the accomplishments of our younger generations, and in fact, he gave the Tom Hayden Cup (Minor Division 2 League) to the Longford Minor Board as a thank-you token for all of their hard work. He did this to express his appreciation for all of their hard work. In addition to that, Tom has extensive experience working as a member of the Fr. Manning Cup Competition Committee over the course of a number of years.
Back in 2015, when the tournament was commemorating its 50th anniversary, he was an essential member of the organizing committee, together with Sean McMullin and John Greene. Together, they were responsible for a number of important details. On Saturday morning at eleven o’clock in the morning, there will be a funeral mass for Tom held in St. Mel’s Cathedral. After this, Tom’s body will be laid to rest in the Newtownforbes cemetery in accordance with his wishes. Tom died away without any pain or suffering on November 3, 2018.
