Saundra Aldrich Death, Obituary – As the Aldrich family mourns the loss of their mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt, we ask for your assistance in being there for them. We ask that you join us in praying for their healing and strength. During this trying time, we want the family to know that we are thinking of them and sending our deepest condolences. On the morning of Sunday, December 4, 2022, Ms. Saundra Ann Bowen Aldrich, age 79, of Blackshear, Georgia, died away at her residence. In spite of the fact that she began her life on April 8, 1943 in Blackshear, Georgia, she had resided in Pierce County for the bulk of her life.
Ms. Aldrich completed her high school studies at Blackshear and obtained her diploma from that institution. She had worked at Satilla Regional Medical Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the past 17 years before deciding to retire from the position. Some of her favourite things to do included visiting the mountains, attending auctions, and spending time with her grandchild. She also enjoyed going to auctions. In addition to this, she took great delight in tending to her flowers, particularly the gerbera daisies and daylilies that she grew. Ms. Aldrich was a member of several congregations, including the Hacklebarney Baptist Church, during her lifetime.
She was the daughter of the late Reverend Kermit Leon and Maggie Margaret Thomas Bowen. Maggie Margaret Thomas Bowen passed away before she was born. Maggie Margaret Thomas Bowen did not live long enough to see the birth of her daughter. Both her grandson B.J. Dixon and her brother James Wynan “J.W.” Bowen passed away before to her own passing. She was the only member of her immediate family that had made it this far. Her survivors include her three daughters, Stephanie Aldrich & Charlton “Butch” Blocker of Jesup, Lori Aldrich and Lisa Aldrich both of Brunswick; a great grandson, Cohen Dixon; a special niece, Bridgette (Timmy) Lee; a special nephew, Jimmy Bowen; two great nieces and a great nephew, Maggie (Mark) Harrell, Jessica Pittman, and Hugh (Danielle) Lee; and several other relatives and friends.
At the Pearson-Dial Chapel on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at three o’clock, funeral services for Ms. Aldrich will be held in memory of her passing. Ms. Aldrich’s family and friends will be able to pay their respects in the chapel commencing one hour prior to the start of the funeral service.
