Rick was successful in all four of the elections he ran for when he was seeking the position of trustee in Wayne Township. He ran for the position on four separate occasions. Rick is now serving his community of Wayne Township as a trustee.
Rick was elected to his position as a trustee for Wayne Township in 2006 and continued to serve in that capacity until 2019, when he made the announcement that he would retire from public service. Because he was so certain that it was his responsibility to “give people a hand up, not a hand out,” he was able to make significant contributions to the development of Wayne Township. This was made possible by his conviction that it was his duty to do so. “Give people a hand up, not a hand out,” was one of the guiding principles that he adhered to. He was of the idea that it was his job to carry out the action. The Allen County Democratic Party wishes to extend its deepest condolences to Carol, Rick’s wife, as well as to their children, grandchildren, and any other members of their family or friends who were affected by Rick’s passing.
