Ramiah Whiteside Obituary, Associate Director of EXPO has died - Death

Ramiah Whiteside Obituary, Death – On December 4th, 2022, Ramiah Whiteside, who had been serving as the Associate Director of EXPO EX-incarcerated People Organizing, passed suddenly. The proceeds of this event will go toward assisting his family in paying him the proper honor that his life deserves. Everyone who came into contact with Ramiah was able to realize that those who have been or are now serving time in prison deserve to be loved. Ramiah walked among us as an embodiment of love, peace, and light.

Ramiah began his work with EXPO in 2019, following a period of captivity that lasted for 25 years, with the intention of illuminating the darkness of consciousness and the reality that others refuse to acknowledge. He stayed informed about what was happening inside Department of Corrections facilities in Wisconsin by maintaining daily contact with men and women who are currently incarcerated there. This information is frequently kept hidden from people on the outside, either on purpose or through negligence, so he was able to obtain it.

More than anything else, Ramiah used the force of his forceful yet compassionate voice to share these experiences with politicians, the media, and communities in order to push for reform inside the system. His objective throughout all of this effort was to make jail, in whatever shape it may take, the absolute last option available in our legal system, rather than the default one.
