Patrick Hanrahan Obituary, Death –  On November 26, 2022, Patrick Gerald Hanrahan, 37, from Ashland, Ohio, passed suddenly due to an unforeseen illness. He was the son of Kim (Henchy) Hanrahan, whose husband Vincent Hanrahan had passed away, and the late Vincent Hanrahan. Although Patrick was born in Providence, Rhode Island, his family eventually settled in the Ashland area when he was a little child. After completing his education in Ashland’s public schools, he went on to earn a degree in 2007 from Bridgewater State University. Patrick was a project manager that specialized in international construction. He oversaw many buildings all around the world. In 2007, he started his professional life working in the Middle East, specifically in Jordan, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Before returning to the United States, he worked in Puerto Rico on the reconstruction of the US Customs House in San Juan. Most recently, he returned home to work in Boston and settle here with his son.

He was a huge fan of the Celtics and attended as many of their games as he possibly could. When he was working outside of the country, he made it a point to ensure that he still had access to all of the sports channels. Patrick was a doting and affectionate father who cherished his relationship with his kid. Spending time with Mason, whether it be at the beach, the zoo, spending the day touring Boston and seeking new adventures, or arranging a vacation to Disney World, was the thing that brought him the most joy.

Patrick and his siblings all had a deep fondness for one another and were each other’s closest confidants. He was someone who they could look up to and turn to for guidance, and they did so frequently. After his father passed away in 2019, he was his mother’s pillar of strength due to his unwavering devotion to her. Patrick is survived by his son Mason, age 4, of Ashland; his brother Ryan Hanrahan, age 31, and his partner Jill Deiana of Hopkinton; his brother Colin Hanrahan, age 24, and his partner Janelle Bourque of Ashland; his brother Terrel Newton of Warwick, Rhode Island; his best friend Chris Severo; his grandmother Carol Henchy of Cape Vincent, New York; his uncles Steven Henchy of Fall River; Chris Henchy and his wife Sue of Cape Additionally, he is survived by his nephew Cillian Hanrahan, who was someone who held a very special place in his heart.
