Olivia Yallop Obituary, Death – Olivia Yallop was the author of Break The Internet: In Pursuit of Influence, which was published by Scribe in 2021. The news of her departure has left Scribe in a state of deep and profound sorrow. Olivia gave presentations about it at the Cheltenham Literature Festival and the Berwins Salon North. It explored the culture and business of influencers and was covered in The Guardian and on BBC Radio 4’s “Start the Week.
Olivia was a writer and speaker who was very bright, insightful, and endearingly witty. She possessed the unique ability to communicate difficult concepts with wit and energy, which was a rare gift. The humor, zeal, and generosity with which she lived her life will live on in the hearts of the Scribe team forever. The publisher, Molly Slight, expressed how the entire staff at Scribe was overcome with grief upon learning of Livvi’s passing. It is a terrible and shocking turn of events.
She was obviously very intelligent and knowledgeable, but at the same time, she was incredibly personable and humble. This was clear to all of us from the moment we first met her. We were ecstatic when she decided to collaborate with us because it was abundantly clear that she was on her way to become a prominent figure in the literary world. When we started working with her on an editorial level, all of this was reaffirmed for us.
She had a wonderful knack for storytelling and a wonderful sense of humor, and she was incredibly thoughtful and responsive. She was always willing to push herself to do better, and she had a natural flair for storytelling. When the book was first published, it was wonderful to see her brilliance recognized in the reviews and media attention that it received, and we were all really pleased with her achievements. We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of such a talented young author and person, and our prayers and sympathies are with her loved ones during this trying time. Our hearts break for her family and loved ones, and we offer our most sincere sympathies.
