Mary Jane Spoonire Obituary, Death – A van was entering an emergency turnaround near Montoursville and making its way back onto the highway when it was engaged in a collision with a tractor trailer on November 29. Both vehicles were traveling in the same direction. There were nine people traveling in the vehicle. As a consequence of the collision, which took place at around 9:30 p.m., a great number of individuals were sent to nearby hospitals, and unfortunately, one woman passed away as a direct result of the tragedy.
Chuck E. Kiessling, Jr., the coroner for Lycoming County, determined that the person who had passed away as a result of the collision was Mary Jane Spoonire. Spoonire was 66 years old at the time of her death and was from Hagerstown, Maryland. Spoonire, who was a passenger in that vehicle, passed away on December 3 as a consequence of multiple blunt force trauma, as stated in the report that the coroner created after doing their investigation.
Following the collision, both lanes of the highway were closed for a period of time while first responders from the Montoursville and Loyalsock Fire Departments, as well as personnel from the Susquehanna Regional EMS, Pennsylvania State Police, and the Montoursville Police Department worked to evaluate and triage patients and clear the roadway.
