On Friday, December 2, 2022, there was another viewing open to the public from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM, and then there was a National Homegoing service at 10:00 AM. Mrs. Patterson was a devoted member of the COGIC denomination as well as a licensed evangelist in the organization. Evangelist Patterson was the first woman of the church that her husband, Bishop G.E. Patterson, founded, Temple of Deliverance COGIC, and she was aware of the global impact that her husband’s ministry was having. She was the one who came up with the idea for The Total Woman Women’s Conference, which brought attention to a widespread problem in the African American community. Through her advocacy at this conference, women from all across the country were motivated to fight the social, physical, and spiritual problems that are plaguing our community.
“Mother Patterson, the beloved and highly regarded widow of the late, former Presiding Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson, was a refined and saintly woman of God who served as a faithful leader of Bountiful Blessings Ministries and on numerous platforms within our national church,” said COGIC Presiding Bishop Drew Sheard. “Mother Patterson was a refined and saintly woman of God, who served as a faithful leader of Bountiful Blessings Ministries and on numerous platforms within our national church “She left an indelible impression on Christendom as a first lady, as a counselor and mentor to women, as an evangelist, as an author, and most significantly, as a total champion of holiness. Her legacy will live on forever. Few people can match Mother Patterson’s poise and decency when it comes to describing her unwavering support of Bishop G.E. Patterson, her husband and pastor, during his entire life’s ministry. She was a beautiful and precious member of the family that made up the Church of God in Christ, and she will be sorely missed. Both Lady Karen and I sincerely thank Mother Patterson for the real affection she has shown us and the assistance she has given to our family. During this time of reflection and sadness, we at the Church of God in Christ would like to offer our sincere prayers to the Patterson and Dowdy families as well as the Temple of Deliverance church on behalf of the General Board and the whole Church of God in Christ family.”

Mrs. Patterson has served as the general manager of WBBP radio station, the president of Podium Records, and as the author of the book “A Rare Pearl” in addition to her role as president and chief executive officer of Bountiful Blessings Ministries, Inc.
