Landon Bourland Death, Obituary – According to the officials, Landon Bourland, who was 24 years old, was the third individual to pass away. Lindsey Phillips, 23, and David Gonzalez, 22, rounded up the group as the other two participants. They were three of at least five persons who were said to be trapped inside the multi-unit warehouse, according to the firefighters.
At about 7:10 in the evening, fire crews were dispatched to a multi-business occupancy warehouse in the city of Orlando located at 901 Central Florida Parkway. One of the businesses that was housed there was French Furniture Orlando, LLC. They were greeted with a large cloud of smoke and pyrotechnics that shot off into the night sky. Because there were people trapped inside, the fire department and rescue workers made such a significant effort to free them.
The office of the State Incident Marshal is conducting an investigation into what started the fire. There were four patients sent to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, three of which were taken to the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, and the fourth person was a teenager. According to the firefighters, some of the victims suffered burns in the incident. It was first claimed that a total of five individuals had been injured; however, in a news release issued on Friday afternoon by the Orange County Fire Rescue, it was confirmed that a total of four persons had been injured. According to the chief of the battalion, his squad fought the fire with aggressiveness and went inside to rescue the victims who were trapped inside.
When there are victims trapped, we go into dangerous situations and put ourselves in harm’s way more than we normally would. I would not initially send crews inside a building like this with active explosions and fireworks inside a building that is very similar to the one in Melbourne, but because we did have confirmed victims inside, we did have crews inside making rescues while fireworks and explosions were going on all around them, said Battalion Chief Garrett Wienckowski. “With a building like this with active explosions and fireworks inside a building that is very similar to the one in Melbourne,” said Battalion Chief Garrett Wienckowski.
The fatal blaze that occurred at the Phantom Fireworks in West Melbourne on Monday was addressed by Wienckowski. According to Wienckowski, although there were more than 80 firefighters present at the scene of the fire in Orlando, no firefighters were injured despite the hazardous conditions that existed inside the warehouse. He went on to explain that the warehouse was used by a number of different businesses, and that one of those businesses kept fireworks in a unit within the warehouse.
