Kristi Hodgkiss Death, Obituary – Kristi only had a short life span of 54 years, yet the legacy that she left behind is more significant than what the vast majority of people are able to achieve in their whole lifetimes combined. She completed all of this labor in a far shorter amount of time than that. Her work will be remembered for many years to come by past students, her husband Dennis, her children, and her extended family since she was a dedicated member of the community. In addition, her work will be cherished by her extended family.

Following the completion of a variety of postsecondary education programs and receipt of her high school diploma from North Lamar Independent School District in 1986, Hodgkiss began her career as a teacher at North Lamar High School in the year 1990. She remained at North Lamar High School until the year 2000. During her tenure at North Lamar High School, she was singled out for consistent recognition and success, which she received on a regular basis. During the 32 years that Kristi worked as a teacher in the North Lamar Independent School system,

she was able to successfully establish and lead a UIL Speech and Debate team that rose to the top of the national rankings. This accomplishment was accomplished while Kristi was employed in the North Lamar Independent School system. The team participated in the UIL Speech and Debate tournament for the entirety of those 32 years. While Kristi was working as the Director of the Speech and Debate Program at North Lamar High School, she earned an astounding number of more than 25 team and individual state championships in the state of Texas.

She qualified more than fifty students for the national debate tournament, and she was the recipient of numerous coaching and advocate awards from the National Speech and Debate Association and the University Interscholastic League. In addition, she earned the reputation of being a top-tier tournament coordinator.
