Jon Bartlett Death, Obituary – The sad news that my dear buddy Jon Bartlett has passed away has caused all of us to be in a deep state of sadness. It took me a full week just to get around to writing this piece when I finally did. I was hoping to find this particular shot because I don’t think any of us has ever published it on the internet. If you happen to know where it is, please let me know. In 2008, we had our first encounter with Jon while my band was serving as the opening act for Mushroomed, a band that Jon was a huge fan of. Jon was a tremendous fan of music in general, and he was especially supportive of the musicians who made it.
We became fast friends, and when we were on tour together, we kept in regular contact with one another on the internet as well as in person. This picture was taken at one of our events where we were performing. As soon as we realized it was him, we immediately ceased what we were doing and made our way over there. The end result was a very strange photo in which we are both wearing half of our makeup, but we were just so happy that he was there that we didn’t care. While we were getting ready backstage, someone came back and told us that someone was looking for me at the merchandise stand. During the time that we were applying my makeup, someone came back to tell us that the merch stand had a customer looking for me.
Someone entered the room as we were applying my makeup. As soon as we learned that he had passed away, we immediately checked our messages to determine the most recent time that we had communicated with one another before his passing. He had messaged me in June, right before Seven Factor went out on tour with Psyclon Nine, and he was asking if we were going to be in his area; however, we never replied to his message. He was asking if Seven Factor was going to be touring with Psyclon Nine. When we realised what he had done, it tore a hole in everyone of our hearts. We did not even see the message, but we deeply regret that we did not get the chance to meet him, and we wish that we had instead observed the communication.
