John Wilhelm Obituary, Death – The passing of Coach John Wilhelm occurred this morning. In 1984, under his leadership, our Tiger football team competed in the state final four and won the GMC championship. Additionally, he held the position of Principal. The 19th of April, 1955 was the day when John Wilhelm entered this world. On February 10, 2022, he made his entrance into eternal life via Christ. In the course of his lifetime, he had established himself as a minister, entrepreneur, pilot, and musician.
In his role as pastor, he ministered to the younger members of both Chestnut Assembly of God and Atco Assembly of God’s congregation. In his professional life, he rose through the ranks to become the owner of Wilhelm Roofing Company for the third time. He discovered the most pleasant of activities in flying planes, and since he was a teenager, he has been able to express his inner creativity by playing the drums. John Peterson wed Dorothy Peterson in 1976, and the couple went on to have three cherished boys together: Ethan, Gabe, and Ryan.
They count themselves incredibly fortunate to have been given the opportunity to become grandparents to the adorable Josie and Jackie thanks to Ethan and Jennifer, Josie’s and Jackie’s parents.
John’s parents, Vernon and Evelyn Wilhelm, as well as his sister Eve Coslop, his niece Debby McAllister, and his nephew Terry Coslop all passed away before him. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his beloved and well-respected brother, Randy, and his wife, Susan; his nephew, Eric Coslop (and his wife Sandy); his niece, Phyllis Payne (and her husband Todd); his niece, Barbara Lepore (and her husband Bruce); and his devoted brothers and sisters in law, Bill and Charlotte Maenner, Patricia Peterson, Harry and Sandy Hearing, and Jim and Bonnie Taylor.
His personal family also survives him. On Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, family and friends are invited to Chestnut Assembly of God Church, located at 2554 E. Chestnut Avenue in Vineland for a gathering, which will be followed by a Memorial Service at 10:30 AM. After the funeral, the burial will take place at the Siloam Cemetery in Vineland.
