John West Death, Obituary – After learning of John West Burnham’s passing, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of sorrow. It was a wonderful experience to be able to collaborate with him and get to know him on a more intimate level. It was a beautiful opportunity to witness his humility and kindness, as well as his willingness to contribute to the betterment of education and leadership. Seeing him in action was a moving and memorable moment. John, you will live on in our hearts forever, and your legacy will endure for all of eternity.
We will always remember you with fondness. John graduated from Carlisle High School in 1980 and was honored for his outstanding athletic performance in the sports of basketball and golf while he was a student there. He received this recognition for his time spent competing in those sports. He stood at a height of 6 feet and 8 inches and was well-known for his long drives off the tee, which helped him win a number of long drive championships at both the local and sectional levels. In addition, he was a champion in the long drive category.
He measured an impressive 6 feet 8 inches in height. After spending one year at Juniata College, where he was a member of the third team All American in golf, he transferred to the University of South Carolina in order to complete his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree. At Juniata College, he was a member of the second team All American in golf. When he was a student at the University of South Carolina, he participated in golf and was twice named to the first team of All-Americans.
Throughout the course of his career, he has worked as an assistant golf professional at the Colonial Country Club in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; the Shipyard Golf Course in Hilton Head, South Carolina; and the Rose Hill Golf Course in Bluffton, South Carolina. All of these courses are located in South Carolina. The United States of America is home to all three of these magnificent golf courses. Following his departure from his position in the golf industry, he moved on to work for a wide range of other companies, such as First HSA and Amazon, amongst others.
