John Kirchner Obituary, Death – On November 29, 2022, John E. Kirchner, age 67, passed away in a calm and peaceful manner and went to his heavenly home. Wesley and Maebelle (Gauthier) Kirchner welcomed their son John into the world on January 8, 1955. He was one of four siblings and spent his childhood in Oconto, Wisconsin. He began his education at St. Joseph’s Catholic Grade School and completed his secondary education at Oconto High School in 1973. John was a wonderful big brother who enjoyed spending time with his brothers and father engaging in activities such as bowling, fishing, football, and basketball. Due to the fact that they were both trumpet players, a special bond was shared between him and his father. While he was still in high school, John was the honored recipient of the John Phillip Sousa award.
He tied the knot with Linda Gail Nohr on March 26th, 1988. They became active members of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Green Bay, Wisconsin, not long after they were married. John had been an active participant in a wide variety of St. Elizabeth’s Church parish activities. The most notable of her contributions were overseeing a significant church renovation project in 1994 and organizing a large number of church picnics. In addition to this, John volunteered his time to teach CCD classes, served as a youth minister, and organized a worship service for young people at the church. Jacob was the only child to emerge from their wedlock after they tied the knot. During the years between the ages of three and nine, when Jacob lived at home with his father, John, Jacob has a lot of fond memories of that time.
When John went back to work after taking some time off, he continued his career as a civil engineer by drawing on both his education from Northeast Wisconsin Technical School and the many years of experience he had accumulated. He served as the Project Construction Manager for a number of different contracts in the Green Bay and Fox Valley areas. In 2019, he took his retirement from AECOM. fter donating blood consistently for a good number of years, John eventually began to make apheresis donations instead. He enjoyed activities such as fishing, bowling, and going on adventures. In particular, he treasured the time he got to spend with his son Jacob on the golf course. His devoted wife, Linda, and his cherished son, Jacob, as well as his brothers, Tom (Joan), Richard (Beth), and Mark (Vicki), and his sister, Julie (Rick) Mc Dowell, are among the surviving members of John’s immediate family. In addition to his special aunt Sister Mary Jean, John is survived by his other aunts and uncles, as well as his brother and sister in law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Wesley and Maebelle, John’s parents, as well as Norman and Esther Nohr, his in-laws, all passed away before John did and are now in heaven. At the gathering that will be held to celebrate John’s life on Monday, December 5, 2022, beginning at 5:00 pm and continuing until 7:00 pm, friends will have the opportunity to offer consolation and assistance to John’s family. The start of the prayer service will be at seven o’clock. The celebration will take place at the Newcomer Funeral Home, which is located at 340 South Monroe Avenue in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The ceremony will be presided over by Sr. Marla Clercx.
