Johann Richard Death, Obituary – On November 11th, 1933 in the city of Chicago, Illinois, he was born. His mother’s name was Evelyn Shilling, and he was their son. Dick graduated from Polo High School in 1951 and was awarded his diploma. After that, he continued his education by attending Rock Valley College and Rockford College, where he ultimately received an associate’s degree from both schools. He served in the United States Army from the years 1954 to 1956, during which time he was a soldier. The Congregational Christian Church in Stillman Valley, Illinois was the location of the wedding, which took place on October 20th, 1956.

Following the event, Dick went back to his house to be with Shirley Bosecker, the woman who would eventually become the love of his life. He took early retirement in 1995 from Sundstrand Corporation in Rockford, where he had worked for 25 years, and then went on to become the Import and Export Administration Manager after working in that capacity. In Stillman Valley, where he had previously been a member of the Congregational Christian Church for a considerable amount of time, he just started going to the Valley Evangelical Covenant Church recently. Prior to that, he attended the Congregational Christian Church in Stillman Valley.

In the past, he has been a part of both the Ogle County Jail Ministry and the Ogle County Gideon’s Association. In addition, he has served as an inmate at the Ogle County Jail. Dick is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley Johann of Stillman Valley, daughter Brenda (Jeff) Miller of Callaway, Maryland, son Steve (Lisa) Johann of Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as four grandchildren: Nathan Miller of Lexington Park, Maryland, Erika Miller of Greenville, North Carolina, Ashley Johann of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Alyssa (Terence) Hubbard of Cincinnati. He is also survived by his son Steve Johann, who is married to Lisa Johann and lives in Cincinnati. The passing of Dick occurred on September 15, 2018.
