Joe Miciotto Obituary, Death – Yesterday, Joe Miciotto passed away at the age of 72, and all of us here at LSU Health Shreveport would like to extend our deepest condolences to his family. Joe was a longtime employee of our hospital. Joe worked for this institution, LSU Health Shreveport, for a significant amount of time. Joe put in a considerable amount of time at our medical facility as an employee. Joe has maintained a track record of providing patients at LSU Health Shreveport with exceptional care throughout the course of his career there, which spans more than four decades.
1975 marked the beginning of his career, and 15 years later, in 2001, he was promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer at the hospital, where he had previously worked his way up through the ranks throughout the course of his time there. His professional life began in 1975. During his tenure as CEO of what was then known as Confederate Memorial Hospital and LSU Medical Center, the institution underwent significant expansion and improvement, including being recognized as the best public hospital in the United States. During this time, the institution was also given the name LSU Medical Center.
Additionally, the LSU Medical Center moniker was bestowed upon the establishment during this time period. During this time period, the establishment gained its current name, which is the LSU Medical Center, officially. Joe had a very long and fruitful career at the institution before he finally made the decision to step down from his position as Director of Campus Operations at LSU Health Shreveport. During that time, he was very effective in his role. He was revered and well-known for his unwavering dedication to his work and his unwavering concern for the well-being of his patients, students, residents, and colleagues.
He cared unyieldingly for the health of all of these people. Because he was so consistent in his attention to his work, he garnered a great deal of admiration and esteem from his colleagues. As a consequence of this, he garnered a great deal of respect, and his name is now widely recognized. In March of 2021, a conference room that will be used by the Graduate Medical Education (GME) program and that will be named after Joe Miciotto will be formally dedicated in his honor. The room will be called the Joe Miciotto Conference Room. Joe Miciotto will be honored with the naming of the space.
