Jillian Ballent Obituary, Death – Joseph E. Balent, who had lived in Swoyersville all his life and was 94 years old when he passed away on Sunday morning, August 7, 2022, in Kingston, Pennsylvania, at the Kingston Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, where he had been a visitor for the previous month. Marion Hutsko Balent, his wife of 45 years, passed away on November 30, 1995. She was a member of the Hutsko family. Joseph was the son of the late Michael Balent and Veronica Sitar Balent. He was born in Swoyersville, Pennsylvania, on November 11, 1927.

Joseph is a veteran of the United States Navy, having served his country with distinction as a seaman 1st class. Joseph worked as a welder for the majority of his life and also for the business that was formerly known as Rea & Derick Drug Store in Wyoming. Joseph had been a member of the Holy Trinity Church in Swoyersville for his entire life. More recently, he joined the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Swoyersville.

For all that they have done to assist Joe over the years, a special thank you goes out to Martha Marini, Bernard Rishcoff, Albert and Carol Semanek, Paul Reams and Rose Schultz, as well as the nurses from Visiting Angels and the staff at Cooks Pharmacy. Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., located at 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, was given the responsibility of making funeral arrangements for the deceased. Following the private funeral mass that was held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Swoyersville, the burial took place in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Swoyersville.
