Jessica Sutherland Obituary, Death – On October 13, 2021, Sutherland, who was a member of the Upper Skagit Tribal, passed away at the age of 36. She was born on March 21, 1985, at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. At the time of her birth, she weighed 2 pounds, 3 ounces and was 14 inches long. When she was discharged from the hospital 40 days later, she weighed 4 pounds, 4 ounces. It seemed as though everyone had a crush on her. Because of her mother’s work schedule, the Jarmans were like a second family to her.
In 1989, Mark became a father and could not have been happier to have a baby girl. Soon after, Jessica became a devoted daughter to her father. They became movie buddies and could talk movie lines back and forth to each other while laughing. Their favorite movies included Star Wars, The Hobbit, and any Marvel film. She was an intern for Pastor Benny, and she loved serving in the church; later, she sang at church, and a visiting pastor said you need to go to the New Life School of Worship in Colorado Springs.
Jessica loved to travel and sing; she was an intern for Pastor Benny; she loved serving in the church. She joined the school three months later and enjoyed every moment of it; there were 33 students, and they chose 10 students to be backup singers; she was one of those 10, and she was featured on three of the Desperation Band’s CDs that were released. In addition, she sang backup for the New Life Worship CD. 2006 saw her return to her hometown after the end of the school year.
She has been to both the United Kingdom and the Black Forest in Germany. She was able to play numerous instruments, either by ear or by notes, sing, and was a very talented musician. She worked as a sales associate at a number of different retail establishments in and around Burlington, but her most recent job was at Melody’s Floral, which she adored. She is survived by her brothers, Andrew (Rebecca), and Jared (Ellie); very special cousins, Derek (Heidi), Dalton (Kayla), Daria (Tyler), Megan, Kylie, and Spencer; aunts, uncles, and many, many best friends! She is survived by her parents, Mark and Kelly; Gram Stella; Grandpa John; Uncles Rian (Gail), and Mike; Aunt Dana; Gram Stella; Grandpa John. Her Aunt Cathy, Uncle Kenny, and Grandpa Kenneth, along with her great-grandparents Francis and Iris Turner and Pete and Alice Cuthbert, passed away before she was born.
