Jason Miller Obituary, Death – Eyewitness News has been informed by local law enforcement that a two-car collision that took place in Lackawant to County has resulted in the passing of two individuals. The Lackawant to County Communications Center informed Eyewitness News that emergency personnel were dispatched to the 1400 block of Heart Lake Road on Saturday evening around 8:00 p.m. in response to a two-car collision in which at least one of the vehicles involved rolled over. This information was provided to Eyewitness News by the Lackawant to County Communications Center. Two people had tragically lost their lives as a direct result of the collision, according to a law enforcement officer who was present at the scene of the accident and who confirmed this information to Eyewitness News.
We have been informed by the Lackawant to County Communications Center that one individual was transported in an ambulance that was equipped with advanced life support and taken to the hospital. At this time, it is not possible to determine the severity of the wounds that the individual has sustained. According to the findings of the Lackawannock County Coroner, the two men who lost their lives in the accident have been named as Anthony Maurizio, 39, of Pocono Lake, and Jason Miller, 49, of Carbondale. Both men were found to have been residing in Pennsylvania. Both men were occupants of the same vehicle during their journey.
Heart Lake Road was closed to traffic in both directions between Chapman Lake Road and Route 247 in order to perform maintenance, but it has since reopened to vehicular traffic in both directions.
