Janet Garrett Death, Obituary – On December 3, 2022, Janet Reid Garrett, who had lived a full life and had 56 years of age when she passed away, was able to pass away in the solace and tranquility of her own home. On Wednesday, at 2:00 p.m., funeral services will be place at the Reedy Branch Free Will Baptist Church located in Reedy Branch, North Carolina. Before the start of the service at 1:45 in the afternoon, there will be a reception hosted by the family from 12:30 until 1:45 in the afternoon. The final resting place will be determined, and it will be determined to be at the Winterville Cemetery.

Janet was born in Pitt County, and up until that point in her life, she had spent the entirety of her life in the Winterville region of the county. This is the county in where Janet was both born and reared. She worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for the second grade at Elmhurst Elementary School, which is one of the schools that makes up the Pitt County Schools. Later on, she obtained a position at the Shephard Memorial Library, and after working there for a brief period of time, she moved to the Winterville Library, where she remained employed until the year 2012, at which point she attained her goal of retiring.

Janet has maintained a reputation at the Reedy Branch Free Will Baptist Church throughout the entirety of her life as a result of her regular attendance there. She had spent her entire life as a member of the Women of the Moose, and during that time she had earned a degree by attending classes at the College of Regents. Janet was a voracious reader throughout the entirety of her life. Her singing, the beauty of nature, hearing stories about her ancestors, and spending time with her grandchildren were all things that she cherished immensely. Her paternal grandparents, Amos and Myrtle Averett, and her biological father, Robert Garrett Jr., all passed away before she was born. Her paternal grandparents’ names were Amos and Myrtle Averett. Her biological father’s name was Robert Garrett Jr.

She is survived by her life partner, Wayne Edge; sons Brandon Roach and wife Brittany, Corey Roach and wife Samantha, and Rodney Beamon, Jr.; daughters Eliza Garrett and Karen Beamon; grandchildren Riley and Noah; mother Linda Garrett-Harris and husband Ivan; brothers David Garrett and Mike Harris and wife Angelia; sisters Susan Avila and Penny Harris; and a number of special nieces and nephews. Riley and Noah are her grandchildren. She is also survived by her Her grandchildren are a boy named Riley and a boy named Noah. In addition, she is survived by her Riley and Noah are also remembered by their grandmother, Linda Garrett, in addition to being remembered by their parents. –
