Frances Kessel Obituary, Death – Frances M. Kessel . Birth date and place: April 6, 1941, in Amboy, Illinois Died: December 2, 2022 in Rockford, IL . In the age of 81, Frances M. Kessel of Amboy, Illinois passed away at the Mercy Health Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, Illinois on December 2, 2022. She was the daughter of Philip and Lois (Keelin) Haley and was the product of a birth that took place on April 6, 1941 in Amboy, Illinois.

Prior to Frances’s retirement in 2002, she spent the years 1974 to 2002 employed for Beggs Certified Foods. She sang and played the guitar in the choir at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy, where she had been a member for her whole life, and she also spent 16 years teaching children’s religious education there. In addition to that, she was a member of the “Chicks from the Sticks” and served as Treasurer for the Teen Turf Board for 11 years.

She has continued to be a member of the board since 2016. On March 26, 1960, Frances tied the knot with Bernard C. Kessel in the St. Patrick Catholic Church located in Amboy. He passed away on February 15, 2015, three days before she did. Her grandparents, stepfather Harold Hike, granddaughter Amanda Jo, brother John Haley, sons in law Jack O’Callaghan and Brian Cheshier, and brother in law Ronald Laws all passed away before her.

She is survived by her brother John Haley. Frances is survived by her children Angela O’Callaghan of Bartlett, Amy (Jeff) Reed of Amboy, Michele Cheshier of Rock Falls, Michael A. (Patti) Kessel of Littleton, IL, and Danette (David) Trupp of Bloomington, as well as 12 grandchildren. Angela O’Callaghan lives in Bartlett, Amy (Jeff) Reed lives in Amboy, Michele Cheshier lives in Rock Falls, Ashley (Jeffrey) Bryant, Abigail (Colin) Shields, Michael (Michaela) Reed, Haley Cheshier, Catherine Cheshier, Christine Cheshier, Alyssa (Willy) Bender, Joshua (Tiffany) Kessel.

Levi Kessel, Alexandra Kessel, Kaetlin (Cal) Urycki, Jared Trupp, seven great grandchildren named Everly Bryant, Emelia Bryant, Brody St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy will be the location of the funeral service, which will take place on Friday, December 9th, 2022 at 10:30 AM. After the funeral, the burial will take place in St. Patrick Cemetery in Amboy. Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a saying of the Rosary at 7:30 PM at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Additionally, visitation will take place on Friday, December 9 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy. In Amboy, there is now a memorial dedicated to Teen Turf that you can visit. Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy was in charge of making the necessary arrangements.
