Eva Shrum Obituary, Death – Shrum, who had lived a complete life and had reached the age of 91 when he passed away on November 29th, 2022 in Carthage, Missouri, had led a long and fruitful life. On March 4, 1931, Jo was welcomed into this world by her parents, Tom M. Harrison and Lela Eubanks. Jo was their first child. Her beginnings may be traced back to Elkins, Arkansas, which is where she was born. After moving there from Northwest Arkansas, she called Carthage her home for a significant portion of her life, beginning with the time she first settled there and extending far into her senior years.
Jo was a devout Christian who went to the Church of Christ on Elm Road on a consistent basis. She was also a member of the church. She wanted to impress her family, friends, and acquaintances with her calligraphy, so she wrote a number of letters by hand and mailed them out to them. She was quite satisfied with her calligraphy. Jo enjoyed spending her spare time gardening, scrapbooking, and preparing scrumptious meals for her family.
Scrapbooking was another one of her favorite hobbies. Her house was immaculate almost all of the time, and she had a well-deserved reputation for tending to her garden with the utmost attention to detail. Jo and Jack H. Shrum tied the knot in Huntsville, Arkansas, on August 31, 1953. He died away on June 4, 2011, four years before she did. It was on August 31st, 1953 that the wedding took place.
The members of Jo’s family include her two sons, Morris Shrum and his wife, Libby, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Mark Shrum and his wife, Terrie, of Carthage, Missouri; her two daughters, Lori Ball and her husband, Danny, of Jasper, Missouri, and Jacklyn Highfield of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee; her two sisters, Lois Austin of Lake Forest, California, and Betty Allison of Carthage, Missouri; and her eight grandchildren, Kel
Jo’s parents, Tom and Lela Harrison, along with her husband Jack Shrum, her brothers William and James Earl Harrison, her sister Marie Henderson, and her grandson Mark Shrum Jr., who passed away in June 2021, all passed away before she did. Mark Shrum Jr. was the only member of Jo’s direct family to prevail above her in terms of longevity.
