Emma Wright Death, Obituary – On November 30th, 2022, at the age of 80, Emma Gertrude “Trudy” Dawson Wright, who resided in Covington, Virginia, died away in a manner that was peaceful and tranquil. She was accompanied by her loving family at the time of her passing. Trudy Dawson was born into the world by her parents, Joseph and Mary Dawson, on September 6th, 1942 in the county of Alleghany, Virginia, in the United States of America. Her mother Mary Dawson, her father Joseph Dawson, her brothers Bobby and Billy, and her sister Dorothy “Dot” Dawson all died before Trudy did. Trudy was the last surviving member of her family. As a homemaker, Trudy discovered that she was happiest when she was making all of her family’s favourite dishes for Sunday dinner when she was surrounded by her loved ones. This activity brought her the most joy. She cherished her grandkids and great-grandchildren without reservation, and there was nothing that brought her greater pleasure than doting on them. She took great pleasure in tending to her garden, putting up her harvest, and decorating her house for the many holidays. Attending bluegrass festivals and taking beach vacations were two of her favourite things to do in her free time.

She was well-known for teaching her grandchildren the tactic of “sandbagging” during a game of rummy, which was a game that she frequently played with her grandchildren. Sandbagging is a term that refers to a player who deliberately loses points in a game. After her passing, those of us who were fortunate enough to have known and loved her will feel a profound sense of loss.
Abraham “Abe” Wright, her partner of many years, as well as her siblings John “Johnny” Dawson and Russell “Dean” Dawson, as well as his wife Teressa and Linda Wright, all survive her. Also surviving are Abraham “Abe” Wright.
