Doug Lewis Obituary, Death – Doug Lewis. The day of May 3, 1972, and ending on November 26, 2021, Douglas S. “Doug” Lewis, 49 years old, a resident of Toledo, Ohio, went away in a calm and peaceful manner on Friday, November 26, 2021, at the Toledo Hospital, surrounded by his devoted family. In Toledo, on May 3, 1972, he was brought into the world by his parents, Donald and Linda (Moody) Lewis. Doug completed his high schooling at Whitmer and received his diploma there.
Soon after graduating from high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps and went on to serve his country with honor during Operation Desert Storm. Doug had been a proud member of the Toledo Police Department ever since he had started his career there in December of 2000. He worked in both the field and in the background investigations department. He followed American football quite seriously, and his favorite teams were the Michigan Wolverines and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Doug was an incredible dancer who also had a passion for music and was known for being the light of the party. He had a lot of fun riding his Harley and being outside in general. He was a fantastic chef and cherished activities such as hunting, camping, and being in the great outdoors. Doug was a very active member of his community and he never spoke to an unfamiliar face. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a smile that nobody will ever be able to forget.
Doug’s family was his biggest source of happiness, and he cherished the time he got to spend with both of his sons and the rest of his family. His cheerful demeanor, generous heart, and kind soul will be sorely missed by everyone who has met and cared for him. His father had already passed away when he was born. His loving sons, Carson, Collin, and Ryan; his mother, Linda (John) Leichty; his sisters, Denise Muszynski, Connie (Bruce) Althouse, and Kelly (John) Foster; his fiancé, Donna Abshire; his uncle, Joe (Barb) Moody; and a large number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends are left behind to cherish his memory.
