Daviid MacMartin Obituary, Death – On November 6, 1972, Dave submitted his application to the Ontario Provincial Police to become a Cadet with the organization. Following his appointment, he was offered a job with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and given the opportunity to perform his duties at the Brechin Detachment. On February 7, 1974, Dave made the decision to join the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in a capacity that would be permanent.
After he made the decision to become a permanent member of the OPP, Dave continued to serve out the remainder of his time at the Brechin Detachment. This was the case despite the fact that he became a full-time member of the OPP. Dave had served at the Orillia Detachment in the past, and on June 21st, 1976, after his family moved, he was sent back there as part of the relocation process. Dave had previously served at the Orillia Detachment.
Dave was given a transfer to the Central Patricia Detachment on July 13, 1981, and as a consequence, this location eventually became his new permanent abode.
