David Eugene Leathead Death, Obituary – On December 2, 2022, David Eugene Leathead passed away at Hope Hospice after a protracted and challenging battle with illness. It is with great regret that we must inform you of this latest development. In Gainesville, Florida, on September 11th, 1976, David L. Leathead and Becky Lee Van Pelt became parents to their first child, David. The names David L. Leathead and Becky Lee Van Pelt were also given to him as his parents.
David is currently a Master Electronics Specialist after he graduated from Withlacoochee Technical College in January 1999 with a degree in electronics after having completed his studies there and receiving the degree. After finishing his education, he was quickly sought out for employment by the Citrus County School Board. He was eventually given a position at the Technical Resource Center, where he went on to have a successful career for a total of 23 years. After retiring, he now works as a consultant.
David was an avid hunter; one of his favorite things to do was go deer hunting in Michigan with his father, stepfather, son, nephew, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends at the Leathead Deer Camp, which had been established in 1955. This was one of David’s favorite things to do because it was one of his favorite things to do with his extended family. In particular, he cherished the opportunity to go deer hunting in Michigan. David found the most delight when he was able to spend time with his family and participate in things that they enjoyed together, such as going fishing, camping, cooking, and playing football, as well as taking winter holidays in the snow. David’s dazzling grin was one of the reasons why he was liked by everyone, and it was one of the reasons why David was popular.
After David’s passing, the only people who will remember him are his devoted children: Whittney Downing (Gregory Jr.), Brandon Leathead (Brooke Elsworth), and Nathan Leathead. His mother Becky Van Pelt (Norman Mingle), his father David Leathead (Sharon), his sister Christina Hastings (Daniel), his sister Dana Scott (Ryan), and a large number of his nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other members of his extended family. Additionally, his grandchildren Gregory Downing III, Saylor Downing, and Brinleigh Leathead.
On Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 5:30 PM, Funeral Services will be place at the Fero Funeral Home. In the city of Beverly Hills, Florida, the address of the funeral home is 5955 North Lecanto Highway.
