Danyelle Sterkel Obituary, Death –  On Friday, December 2, 2022, Danyelle Netterville Sterkel, age 41, passed away in a calm and peaceful manner at her home in Houston. She was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on July 6, 1981, and is the daughter of Elaine Delaughter Green and the late Danny Ray Netterville. Her father passed away. She attended Houston High School and graduated in the year 2000. Additionally, she was a member of Amity Baptist Church. She attended Mississippi State University immediately following her graduation from high school, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education. After having spent more than a decade as an educator at Houston, she eventually relocated to Vardaman, where she continued her career in education. She wed Jay Sterkel in 2010, and the couple has now enjoyed 12 wonderful years together, during which they have raised their children, a daughter named Blaire and a son named Blake. Danyelle cherished every single moment of her role as a mother. Her children were her source of immense pride, and the love they gave her was inexhaustible.

She was the steady foundation of the family and saw to everyone’s and the household’s needs. Her unwavering love for her family and faith in God remained unshaken even when confronted with insurmountable challenges. Danyelle was a very outgoing person who had a positive impact on the lives of a large number of students, friends, and family members. She has been summoned to her heavenly home at this time, but she leaves behind priceless memories that everyone who knew her will hold dear for the rest of their lives. The family of Danyelle has entrusted Southern Funeral Home with the honor of providing funeral services. At the Amity Baptist Church in Woodland, California on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., there will be a funeral service honoring her life.

Visitation will also take place on Monday, December 5, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Southern Funeral Home in Houston, and then again on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at the church. The ceremony will be presided over by Bro. Lee Dillard and Bro. Scott Griffin. After the service, the burial will take place at Amity Cemetery. David Coleman Jr., Billy Watkins, Anthony Smith, Brandon Barnett, Cal Sterkel, Billy Paul Coleman, and Keith Samuel will take on the role of Pallbearers for this service. Stephen Winter Sr. will also be present. The faculty at Houston and the Houston Bandits will serve as honorary pallbearers at the funeral.

She is survived by her husband, Jay Sterkel, her daughter Blaire Sterkel, and her son Blake Sterkel. She is also survived by her mother, Elaine Green of Houston; her brother Brandon Barnett of Calhoun City; and her sisters Angel Russell of Tupelo and Leighann Barnett of Houston. Her grandfather, Jules Morrison; her father, Danny Ray Netterville; her step-father, Clarence (Bud) Green; her uncles, Craig Netterville and Darris Coleman; and her aunt, Rochelle Coleman; all passed away before her.
