Chuck Ross Obituary, Death – Because Chuck Ross was such a cherished member of our family, we are breaking the news to you with heavy hearts that he has passed away. Chuck was both our husband and our father. Chuck passed away without any discomfort on Saturday, December 3rd, when he was in the company of his wife and their family. Chuck’s birthday came and he was 80 years old. We would want to express our appreciation to those of you who have purchased from Scattergun in the past or who are doing so at this time. Please take the time to read this note if you are one of those persons. We are indebted to you for being the impetus behind Chuck’s realization of his lifetime ambition of opening Scattergun Lodge.
Over the course of those many years, the one thing that brought him the greatest joy was being able to talk about Scattergun with each and every one of you. When he was asked, “When are you going to retire? “, he responded by saying that he did not know. His reply was, “What can I do after retirement that would be more fun than doing exactly what I’m doing right now!” He was referring to the work that he was performing at the time. He was talking about the work that he was doing at the time the comment was made. It was predetermined that Chuck would depart us three days after he hosted his final group for the calendar year. It was written in the stars.
The question that arises next is, how shall we pay tribute to Chuck? By continuing the job that he started nearly 25 years ago and ensuring that its legacy is preserved in the process. The future of Scattergun is secure, and we are committed to ensuring that Chuck’s vision for the firm is realized over the course of many generations to come. In the city of Pierre, South Dakota, the Isburg Funeral Chapels can be found at 439 S. Pierre Street, and on Friday, December 16th, there will be a Celebration of Life held there.
The viewing will be held from one to three in the afternoon, and there will be a brief service at three o’clock. In order to give Chuck Ross a “proper” farewell, there will be a processional to the Lodge immediately following the conclusion of the service, which will be held in his honor. In addition, we will be hosting a Celebration of Life in the Twin Cities on the afternoon of Saturday, January 14 at the Rush Creek Golf Club from three to six o’clock.
