Chrissy Barron Obituary, Death – According to members of the Merrillville Town Council, the former councilwoman for the town of Merrillville, Chrissy Barron, has passed away. According to reports, Barron was on her way home from a vacation when she became ill and passed away. Both Leonard White and Marge Uzelac, who were members of the council, stated that they learned of her passing early on Friday morning. White stated, “I was informed of the information at the same time that other officials were informed.” “I’m still trying to make sense of it. It’s unbelievable.”
Approximately eight years were spent with Barron holding the position of councilwoman for Merrillville’s fifth ward. In the past, she has attempted to become a trustee for Ross Township and the clerk-treasurer of Merrillville. Uzelac stated that she had known Barron for a considerable amount of time and that she knew Barron to be extremely concerned with the political climate in Merrillville. Uzelac stated that she had a significant interest in political matters. “Campaigns and fundraising efforts. She expressed a desire to participate.”
White remarked that Barron had a wonderful sense of humor and a disposition that made him easy to get along with. White described her as a petite woman who made up for her height with her eloquence. “She did not show any fear.” Uzelac mentioned that she recalls Barron for her generosity as well as her interest in politics. Uzelac remarked that many individuals looked forward to spending time with her since “she was just a nice person.” “The news of her dying came as a total shock.”
