Bill Bittinger Death, Obituary – Bill Bittinger The 10th of October 1928 to the 2nd of December 2022 Winnsboro is located in South Carolina. On December 2, 2002, Bill David Bittinger, who was 94 years old and lived in Winnsboro, South Carolina, passed away. Bill graduated from Grady High School in 1946 after being born in Grady, Arkansas, on the 10th of October 1928. After that, he joined the United States Army in 1950 and worked his way up to the rank of artillery sergeant until 1952. Bill received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska in 1957 and went on to have a successful career.

He spent the majority of his career working as a Plant Manager and Engineering Manager for Celanese Fibers (in Texas and Virginia) and Uniroyal Tire Company (in South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia), respectively. In addition to being a Rotarian, Bill was an active participant at the First United Methodist Church in Winnsboro, South Carolina. Woodworking had been Bill’s hobby for his entire life. His parents, David A. and Alta Green Bittinger, as well as his late wife, Margery Ann Bittinger, his son, Harold David Bittinger, and his son-in-law, Bill McPherson, all passed away before he did. He was the last of his family members to pass away. In addition, Bill’s sister Jean B. Dafford, as well as his brothers Danny Lee Bittinger, Larry Green Bittinger, and Jonny Mac Bittinger, all passed away before him.

Bill is survived by his wife, Shirley Padgett Bittinger, as well as his daughter, Kay Ellen McPherson, son, Paul James Bittinger (Rebecca), and daughter-in-law Sandy Bittinger, as well as Shirley’s son, Dale Ackerson. In addition, Bill is survived by Shirley’s son, Dale Ackerson. In addition to his biological grandchildren, Bill had two step-granddaughters, Jennifer Michelle Daniel and Sarah Elizabeth Keefe. Bill’s grandchildren were named Erin Leigh McPherson, Joshua Hawke McPherson, Sally Jane McGrath, and Shelby Ann Bruning. Bill leaves behind six great-children, one step-great grandchild, and more great-grandchildren on the way.

Memorial Services are scheduled to take place on December 6, 2022 at First Methodist Church in Winnsboro, South Carolina, with visitation beginning at 1pm and services beginning at 2pm, followed by a brief service at the graveside. The Pope Funeral Home in Winnsboro, South Carolina is in charge of making arrangements for the burial. Donations in memory of the deceased can be made to the First Methodist Church in Winnsboro via Pope Funeral Home or directly to the church.
