Ashley Mason Rhodes, 37 years old, a resident of Virginia Beach, was involved in an accident late on Sunday night. She passed away at a hospital in the area shortly after the accident. She was driving a Nissan Versa southbound on Interstate 81 when, according to the reports of the police, she went off the road, collided with a guardrail, and came to a stop in the middle of the southbound lanes. Following that, a driver operating a Freightliner tractor-trailer that was also heading south crashed into the Nissan. Both vehicles were traveling in the same direction.

Boardman was driving a Ford Explorer SUV in the direction of northbound traffic when, according to the report filed by the police, he veered off the right side of the road, collided with a parked car, and then collided with a tree, which caused the Explorer to flip over.
