The Lackawant to County Communications Center informed Eyewitness News that emergency personnel were dispatched to the 1400 block of Heart Lake Road on Saturday evening around 8:00 p.m. in response to a two-car collision in which at least one of the vehicles involved rolled over.

We have been notified by the Lackawant to County Communications Center that one individual was transported in an ambulance that was equipped with advanced life support technology and taken to the hospital. An ambulance was used to complete the relocation of the patient. According to the information provided by the Lackawannock County Coroner, the two individuals who were found to have passed away as a direct result of the accident have been named as Anthony Maurizio, age 39, of Pocono Lake, and Jason Miller, age 49, of Carbondale. It became out that both of the males had been occupying the passenger seats of the vehicle throughout the entire incident.
During the course of their journey, both of the males were observed occupying seats within the same automobile together. While maintenance was being done on the section of Heart Lake Road that lies between Chapman Lake Road and Route 24 7, the road was closed to traffic in both directions. Vehicle traffic in both directions can now proceed normally along the reopened roadway. Earlier, the path had been entirely obstructed in all directions.
